Residency program

Arte Ponte offers a residency program in Venice and New York.

Applications for  Summer July/August Venice 2017 .  Applications close 1st April 2017.
Applications for NY Winter December/January 2017. Will close 1st July 2017.

Residencies are normally maximum 4 weeks.  The research and resulting artwork(s) will be exhibited in New York and/or Venice after the residency. A publication is produced in tandem to the exhibition  about the resident artist and their work.

Arte Ponte assists all artists to meet and network with the local art scene, where and when the latest openings are, meet local artists in their studios and to source art materials. We provide the necessary support and encouragement to help you get the most out of your stay. All residents are invited to ArtePonte and JanKossen gallery events, including private dinners after the openings.

Since ArtePonte also provides workships, seminars and talks, we are particularly interested in artists who can contribute to our curriculum. Artists with previous experience in speaking to groups about their art, technique etc, are welcome to apply.

Arte Ponte residencies covers airport pickup, a welcome packet with everything from local maps, guide books, and a subway guide, orientation, internet hook-up and local phone, as well as a welcome dinner for you to meet the other residents. In addition, we also keep all our residents up to date on gallery openings and other occasions. We are here for our residents regarding any concerns or needs that they may have during their stay.

Grants available

Our program is managed on a not-for-profit basis. Participants are expected to cover the costs of living, transportation, supplies, and accommodation while Arte Ponte provides all the necessary support to make your time here fruitful and enjoyable. Many of our residents attend with the help of funding they have received from their sending countries.

In Venice, Arte Ponte can provide accommodation in the palace; a private room with en-suite bathroom including breakfast, for a daily accommodation fee of €65.-.
